11SIX24 Power Paddle Playtest: How Does It Stack Up?
When it comes to pickleball paddles, it's not just about specs—it's about how they feel in real gameplay. That's exactly what we set out to explore in this detailed playtest of the 11SIX24 Power Paddle lineup.
A huge thanks to All World Pickleball in Woodbury, Minnesota, for hosting us. If you're local and haven’t checked it out, they’ve got 15 indoor courts, each equipped with instant replay and PB Vision technology. It’s a next-level place to play.
And full disclosure—rookie mistake alert! I accidentally deleted some of the side-angle footage before transferring it. Fortunately, we still had plenty of camera coverage, so you're still getting plenty of action-packed, real-time play.
This session brought together four players, each coming from their current paddle preferences:
- Mike: Vatic Pro Saga V7
- Rob: Pickleball Apes Pulse S
- Hoai: Carbon TruFoam 1
- Milwaukee Rob: Carbon TruFoam 2
For good measure, we also tossed in the Honolulu Pickleball J2K Plus—a paddle known for sharing some construction similarities with the 11SIX24 Power lineup.
This playtest was about raw gameplay, uncensored reactions, and a deep dive into how these paddles perform under pressure. Want to see the full action? Click the link to watch the full video on YouTube.
First Impressions: Raw Power Meets Solid Spin
The first game kicked off with plenty of energy—and some immediate realizations about the 11SIX24 Power Paddle.
Right away, the standout features were:
- Power: This paddle packs a punch. You don’t need a massive swing to get the ball moving with pace.
- Spin: Players immediately noticed the ability to generate aggressive topspin and sharp angles.
- Stability: While some players noted a bit of twisting in the hand, this was easily fixed with a bit of tungsten weight customization.
"You don't need to put a lot of swing into it. Just get a paddle on it, and it’s going back over," one player noted after a quick hands exchange at the net.
But What About Control?
While the 11SIX24 Power Paddle excels in power and spin, the early games revealed a few challenges with control. Some players felt it lacked dwell time—meaning the ball didn’t stay on the paddle face as long as they preferred for softer shots.
"It doesn't feel like a control paddle to me, but once I adjusted and trusted the paddle’s power, it started to click," Mike observed.
Despite that learning curve, the consensus was clear: for a power-focused paddle at its price point, it delivers serious value.
Paddle Comparisons: 11SIX24 vs. the Competition
We didn’t just stop at gameplay with the 11SIX24. To really put it to the test, we rotated in several other paddles, including:
- Honolulu Pickleball J2K and J2K Plus
- Carbon TruFoam 1 and 2
- Pickleball Apes Pulse S
- Vatic Pro Saga V7
Here's how the 11SIX24 Power Paddle held up in side-by-side comparisons.
Against the Honolulu Pickleball J2K Plus
- The J2K Plus offered solid power and pop, but players noted that the 11SIX24 provided a more consistent and stable experience, especially when customized with tungsten weight.
- For those who prefer a bit of extra feedback and feel, the J2K Plus stood out, but when it came to quick hand battles, the 11SIX24 pulled ahead with its pop and stability.
"I love the power of the J2K Plus, but this (11SIX24) has more feel and control at the net," Rob noted.
Against the Carbon TruFoam 1 and 2
- The TruFoam series was praised for its soft feel and dwell time, giving players more confidence in touch shots.
- However, when it came to sheer power and quickness, the 11SIX24 had the advantage.
- Some players found that the TruFoam’s extra dwell time made it easier to control spin, but the 11SIX24 stood out for aggressive, offensive play.
"TruFoam has great touch, but the 11SIX24 pops more. It’s quicker in the hands and feels more aggressive," Hoai commented.
Against the Vatic Pro Saga V7
- The Vatic Pro Saga V7 is known for its balance and control, but the 11SIX24 Power Paddle brought more raw power to the table.
- Players coming from the V7 noted they had to adjust their swings—less control but more immediate power.
- Once adjusted, though, many appreciated the extra firepower the 11SIX24 offered.
"The V7 feels more controlled, but the 11SIX24 has more pop. I had to dial it in, but it’s fun once you figure it out," Mike shared.
Performance Highlights: What Stood Out?
- Power and Speed: The 11SIX24 made it easy to generate power without over-swinging, especially on drives and overheads.
- Spin Potential: Players consistently praised how much spin they could generate, particularly on topspin drives and serves.
- Customization Potential: Some players experienced slight paddle twisting, but tungsten tape helped stabilize the feel.
- Quick Adjustment Curve: While the initial adjustment took a few games, players found that once they adapted, they could rely on the paddle’s power and pop in fast exchanges.
Final Takeaways: Would They Switch?
So, would these players switch from their current paddles to the 11SIX24 Power Paddle?
- Mike (Vatic Pro Saga V7): "It wouldn’t replace my V7 just yet, but I’d definitely consider it when it’s time for an upgrade."
- Rob (Pickleball Apes Pulse S): "I wouldn’t replace my Pulse S just yet, but I’d buy the 11SIX24 to have it ready as my next paddle. The power is there, and it feels fast in hand."
- Hoai (Carbon TruFoam 1): "The TruFoam is still my favorite, but the 11SIX24 surprised me. The power and spin are legit. For the price, it’s a great buy."
- Milwaukee Rob (Carbon TruFoam 2): "I love the feel of the J2K Plus, but the 11SIX24 is right there for me. I’d definitely consider switching."
Is the 11SIX24 Worth It?
At around $169, the 11SIX24 Power Paddle offers serious value. It competes with high-end models in terms of power and spin but comes at a much more accessible price point.
- If you’re looking for a power paddle with solid spin and quick hands performance, the 11SIX24 delivers.
- For players who prioritize touch and dwell, it might take a bit of adjustment, but it’s a paddle that rewards aggressive play.
- Plus, it’s customizable with tungsten for added stability.
In the end, it’s a paddle that feels fun and powerful—without breaking the bank.
